'54 - Highway Cruisin' Merc
A 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop.The '54 models featured a 3-speed automatic transmission called "Merc-O- Matic".This year also introduced the 256cu.in. overhead valve V8-rated at 161 HP.Another unique option for that year was a plexiglass sun roof--it was available as a Sun Valley model.The color is Lakeland Blue and the "Continental Kit" was an added option from the dealer.
