The '57 Thunderbird was the last of this body style which ran from 1955 to 1957, Ford needed to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette at the time, so this was their answer.The main styling difference from the previous models was putting the spare tire in the trunk compartment instead of the "Continental Kit" style the earlier models had.
